What are wood combination machines?
What do we mean by a multifunction machine?
One machine that performs several functions at the same time. Usually it is a combination of machines such as: planer, thicknesser, circular saw, milling machine, drill. These devices do not always have to have 5 functions. We also have machines with two or three functions, e.g. planer - thicknesser, planer - thicknesser with drill, saw - milling machine.
Multitasking devices are not a solution for every company. They are best suited for plants that produce smaller amounts of products, where there is no need to process wood or board on several stations at the same time. One or a maximum of two activities can be performed at the same time on the multifunctional machine, therefore they are not suitable for large-scale mass production companies, they can be used as additional equipment. Carpenters often choose to buy these devices due to the space saving and low price compared to buying each machine separately.
There are also specialized multifunctional machines such as CNC or production lines that will process the element "ready" in one cycle. These devices are popular in larger large-scale production plants due to the high price and complex operation that requires qualified personnel. Specialized programs are built into these devices, thanks to which an employee can introduce a project to perform a given element. Thanks to this, you can make a whole series of products with one "click". This process ensures the achievement of high-quality goods in a very short time.
Advantages of multi-purpose machines:

- reduction of machine operation and maintenance costs
- reduction of electricity costs
- limiting the number of employees
- reducing the noise level

- doing most of the work on one machine
Disadvantages of multi-purpose machines:
- possibility to work on one or two positions at the same time
- production slowdown, low efficiency
- each operation requires changing the parameters of the machine, which in turn entails additional time
