Two-sided planer

Double-sided wood planer just like a thicknesser, it will peel off a layer of material to give it the right thickness. Unlike a single-sided thicknesser, a double-sided machine processes an element from two sides simultaneously. Therefore, we save time and as a consequence we can produce more products. Thus, the company's profits will increase.

The big advantage of a double-sided machine is, above all, its high performance.
The machine is great for any carpentry, furniture, craft workshop, repair workshop and other woodworking plants.

Double-sided thicknesser processes mainly soft and hard wood.

Short description of the construction:

It is made of a cast iron or metal body. In the middle of it is built-in two planing shaft and feed drive. A second planing shaft and pulling or slipping rollers are built into the machine's top. There are planer knives mounted in the shaft. The number of blades can vary. The feed has several speed or smooth feed.

The widths and heights depend on the machine model.

Planers with pulling shafts in the top are typically for wet wood.

Planer shafts are attached separately, therefore it is possible to work on both sides or both sides.

Basic equipment for double-sided planer from above:

  • pawl - Prevent material from being rolled back
  • Introductory shaft - Located in front of the planer roller. Electrically powered. It is intended to transport the board to the planing tool. Some models, similarly to thicknessers, have a split sequential shaft mounted. This means that you can simultaneously blink several elements independently of each other.
  • Output shaft - Located behind the planer roller. Electrically powered. Its task is to remove the element from the machine.
  • clamps - They are in front of and behind the planer roller. They are designed to tighten the workpiece.
  • Upper planing shaft - Its task is to process the material in advance.

Elements appearing from the bottom of a double-sided planer:

  • Initial top - We put the material on it. This table is adjusted.
  • Slip or pulling roller - Usually there are several. Their height is regulated.
  • Chipping shaft - It is designed to process the material from below.

When buying a machine you should be guided primarily by such parameters as:

  • engine power,
  • number of knives in the shaft,
  • machining parameters,
  • material from which the machine is made, etc.
