Wood Mortiser Used and New
A mortiser or wood chisel primarily makes sockets and holes for door locks, handles and keys, as well as holes for tenons. Mortiser machines are used in carpentry, roofing or joinery workshops, as well as in industrial plants for mass production, e.g. door and window joinery. Are you looking for a professional electric wood chisel that will increase the efficiency of your workshop? In our shop you will find a wide selection of high-quality mortisers that will meet the expectations of even the most demanding carpenters and craftsmen. Our wood chisels are distinguished by their precision of workmanship, operational reliability and innovative technical solutions supporting the work of the operator. A specialist keyway chisel allows you to make precise holes and sockets in wood, ensuring a perfect fit of structural elements. We offer both new and used chisels from renowned manufacturers that will prove themselves in everyday work in both small workshops and large industrial plants.
Wood Mortiser / Mortiser - Construction and Principle of Operation
Mortiser machines can be divided into two basic types based on their construction.
- Stationary mortisers – have a solid body, on top of which a mortising unit is mounted. This unit consists of an engine, which is mounted on special tubular guides and a guide with a chain attached (hence the popular name chain mortiser). The entire mortising unit is adjustable up/down, right/left, front/back, and in some models also at an angle. Under the chain mortiser there is a worktop with a material clamp. Usually in these machines there are two tops – for small and large elements. Some models of mortisers have central chain lubrication. This lubrication can be manual or automatic.
There are mortisers with an additional drilling function. The most common are mortisers with two drills on the sides of the mortiser. They drill shallow holes / slots for lock plates. Additionally, horizontal drills with oscillation are also installed, which drill holes for the handle and lock insert.
- Portable/handheld mortisers – are characterised primarily by the fact that they are small and do not take up much space. They can be mounted to a table or leaned against the workpiece. Like stationary mortisers, they have a mortising unit and an engine. In addition, the principle of operation is the same as in stationary mortisers. Portable mortisers are used primarily on construction sites.
Drilling and mortising machines are also distinguished, which, as the name suggests, can work as a mortiser or drill. In order to use the drill option, you need to install a special attachment on which a stationary straight chisel is mounted. A drill that rotates is mounted inside it. Thanks to this, we obtain tenons with right angles. Drill-mortisers have solid bodies on which the table top is mounted stationary. An aggregate is mounted on the side of the table top, which can be adjusted up/down, right/left, front/back. This aggregate usually has a locking of the travel length in order to make several identical holes. Material clamps are mounted above the table top. A drill-mortiser for wood offers additional possibilities thanks to replaceable working tips and a drilling function, which significantly expands the range of possible works.
A modern wood mortiser combines innovative technical solutions with ease of use, ensuring efficient work without unnecessary downtime. Each mortiser has been designed with maximum ergonomics and work safety in mind, equipped with emergency stop and overload protection systems. The guide system ensures stability during material processing, eliminating the risk of inaccuracy and manufacturing errors. Modern wood mortisers have electronic control, which guarantees repeatability of performed operations and the ability to save the most frequently used settings.
What makes our wood mortisers stand out?
A professional wood mortiser from our offer is a guarantee of the highest quality of workmanship, confirmed by many years of experience of manufacturers. Each used mortiser from our offer undergoes a detailed technical inspection before being put on sale, which eliminates the risk of buying faulty equipment. Our carpentry machines are ready to work immediately after purchase. Mortiser and mortiser drilling machines from our offer are:
- high performance,
- professional chain tensioning systems,
- durable and solid workmanship,
- work ergonomics,
- relatively small dimensions and low weight (do not require much working space),
- low operating costs.
Used or new mortiser?
The choice between a new and used mortiser depends on your individual needs and budget, but in both cases you can count on high quality and reliability. A new wood mortiser provides a full manufacturer's warranty and access to the latest technical solutions, such as electronic control and advanced safety systems. However, a professional used mortiser or wood drill and mortiser is an equally good choice, especially in the case of proven, solid devices. All used mortisers we offer undergo a thorough technical inspection, including inspection of mechanical, electrical and safety systems. We guarantee the efficiency and reliability of each device available in our range, regardless of whether you choose a new or used model.
