What is a shaper used for?
The tenoning machine is a universal joinery machine that processes both solid wood and wood-based materials. A tenoning machine, also known as a saw-milling machine, makes tongues, grooves, tenons, cutouts, and other shapes. They are made at the ends of cutters, planks, strips, slats, etc.
Tenoning machines improve work in many plants producing furniture, window frames or wooden floors. Tenoning machines are characterized above all by high precision and efficiency.
There are also tenoning and formatting machines available on the market, which combine the functions of formatting and tenoning wooden elements. The tenoning machine allows for the creation of precise connections at the ends of wooden elements, which is crucial in furniture production and construction joinery. The wood tenoning machine is widely used in the processing of various wooden and wood-based materials. The tenoning machine for straight tenons allows for quick and accurate execution of standard tenon joints. The tenoning machine also allows for precise cutting of elements to size, which increases the versatility of the machine. Thanks to modern technological solutions, our tenoning machines allow for a significant acceleration of the production process while maintaining the highest quality of workmanship. Using the tenoning machine translates into measurable savings in time and materials, which has a direct impact on the profitability of the business.
Types of tenoners – single-sided, double-sided and hobbing
Woodworking tenoning machines are a fairly broad group of machines, in which we can distinguish several basic types:
Single-sided tenoners
A single-sided tenoning machine is a combination of a saw and a milling machine. The saw spindle is equipped with a disc. A milling cutter is mounted on the milling machine axis. Both tools have safety guards. The saw and the milling machine are powered by separate engines. The entire drive is located inside the machine body. Single-sided tenoning machines have a carriage. It is mounted at the front of the machine. The carriage moves mechanically or automatically. Additionally, clamps are mounted on the table of the mobile device from above or also from the side. Thanks to this, the element cannot move during operation. The clamps can be manual or pneumatic. Pneumatic ones press using air, which is why an additional machine is needed - a compressor.
The machine starts with the proper setting of the material. The precise setting of the element is facilitated by the angle ruler mounted on the table and the clamps. During the carriage movement, the saw cuts off the allowance, then the milling machine makes the milling. After moving to the final position, the finished element is removed. Then the table returns to the starting position.
Double-sided tenoners
The principle of operation is similar to a single-sided tenoning machine. Double-sided tenoning machines process both sides of the material. This process is performed along the entire length of the element. The milling saw has a bed on which two working units are mounted. There are two or more spindles on the right and left aggregates. The number of axes depends on the user's needs. The spacing of the left and right aggregates is adjusted manually or automatically. This machine solution streamlines the production process, as both sides of the element are processed simultaneously.
Tenoning machines
The tenoning machine produces a tenon that is carefully matched to the shape of the socket. The tools of the tenoning machine move along a designated path around the machined tenon through a rotating head. Thanks to this solution, we can obtain any pattern or shape. In older models of tenoning machines, the tools are controlled mechanically according to a pattern. In new versions, computer programs replace mechanical control. The name of the tenoning machine comes from the name of metal machines. In metals, the tenoning machine is used to produce gears.
How much does a wood tenoner cost?
How much does a tenoner cost? As with most professional woodworking machines, the prices of tenoners vary considerably. Small wood tenoners, which are used in every small-scale carpentry workshop, cost from PLN 5000 to PLN 10000. We also offer slightly more advanced models in excellent technical condition. On our website you will find various tenoners for woodworking ranging from a dozen to several dozen thousand zlotys. Our range also includes computer-controlled, advanced top-shelf formatting and tenoning machines. The price of such devices is up to PLN 200 or 300 thousand. However, it is an investment that, thanks to such advantages as high efficiency, durability and versatility, will quickly pay off.
We offer various financing options for purchases, including leasing and installments. It is worth paying attention to used tenoners in very good technical condition, which are a good alternative to new devices. We have prepared attractive financing packages for our customers, which allow you to spread the purchase costs over time. In addition to the machines themselves, we also offer the necessary tools and accessories.
Which shaper should I choose?
Choosing the right tenoner depends on several key factors. First of all, you need to determine the scale of production and the type of work performed. The engine power, the required level of precision, the possibility of adjusting the operating parameters and the quality of workmanship are important.
We offer many models of tenoning machines with different parameters and designs, so when choosing a tenoning machine for your plant, you should primarily consider the following parameters:
